Due to the influence of the Chinese drama 'Early Spring, Sunny Day,' which recently began streaming, lead actor Jing Boran (井柏然) has seen a rapid surge in his popularity and level of attention among Taiwanese netizens.

The urban romance 'Early Spring, Sunny Day,' starring Jing Boran and Sun Qian (孫千), began streaming on Youku (YOUKU) and Netflix (Netflix) on August 26. On Netflix Taiwan, it has topped the popularity rankings in the drama category.

In Taiwan, immediately after its release, related videos and discussions about the drama were actively featured on SNS platforms like Threads and Dcard, making Jing Boran one of the most talked-about Chinese drama actors among netizens. Taiwanese media introduced several key points regarding the reasons for this.

First, Jing Boran, who plays a creative director at an advertising agency, perfectly embodies his role. While capable at work, he is also very demanding and a strict boss to his subordinates, but as the story progresses, he gradually reveals a gentler side, slowly transforming into a charming male lead who captivates viewers.

Furthermore, precisely because of his role as a creative director at an advertising agency, approximately 120 outfits are prepared for him in the drama, showcasing a variety of styles from suits to casual wear. In contrast to his cool and unapproachable character, he also shows an adorable side in behind-the-scenes footage and other materials, and this gap (contrast) also contributes to his popularity.

It is not the first time Jing Boran has gained attention in Taiwan; he gained popularity with his unit debut in 2007 and also became known for collaborations with popular Taiwanese idols. Furthermore, in the movie 'Monster Hunt,' he made headlines for being cast as the protagonist, replacing a young Taiwanese actor who was involved in a drug scandal.

In recent years, dramas like 'Road Home' and 'The Reborn' have also gained popularity in Taiwan. Throughout his long career, he has gradually shed his former idol image, but in 'Early Spring, Sunny Day,' his mature aura suddenly stands out, leading many viewers to be surprised anew by his transformation, exclaiming, 'When did he become such a mature actor?'
