On the 7th, a post appeared on China's social media platform Xiaohongshu (RED) stating that the user was deeply moved by the kindness of 7 women in Japan.
According to the female poster, when she was on the airport limousine bus, a group of Japanese women (believed to be 3 people) saw her suitcase moving and held it down for her until she got off. Furthermore, they also kindly helped her purchase a train ticket to head into the city afterward.
Later, she took the subway but accidentally got off at the wrong station. There, she met four high school girls, and when they realized their destinations were in the same direction, they guided her, saying, "Follow us." They also helped carry her suitcases up the stairs.
While together, they chatted about their ages and whether it was her first trip to Japan, among other things. The high school girls complimented her nails, saying they were "cute." The high school girls who got off the train first kindly told her how many more stations it was until her destination and wished her to "enjoy your trip."
The woman wrote, "From the very first day I came to Japan, my stereotypes about Japanese women were overturned. I used to think Japanese women were relatively quiet and spoke modestly, but in reality, they were very sociable, passionate, and genuinely kind. My heart was truly warmed, and I was deeply moved."
Chinese netizens commented, "Japanese girls are kind," "I also met many kind people in Japan," "When I first went to Japan, a Japanese girl guided me to the station platform. I was truly grateful," "When I was taking a picture with the Doraemon statue at TV Asahi, a Japanese girl offered to take one for me," "Osaka has especially many kind people," "I was treated very kindly by a Japanese 'obasan' (auntie) in Azumino Hotaka," and "When I was holding a 10,000 yen bill tucked behind my smartphone to buy a ticket at Sasebo Station, it slipped out without me noticing. Then, a middle school-aged girl picked it up and handed it to me."
Additionally, comments such as "Japanese people are truly kind. On the contrary, Chinese and Southeast Asian people are not so much," "When I traveled in Tokyo, all the people who helped me were Japanese women. They were truly kind and gentle. However, they actually have strong opinions of their own and are not as submissive or low in household status as foreigners might imagine," "My husband sprained his ankle in Japan. When we went to the hospital, a staff member squatted down beside him and patiently listened to us using a translation device, to the point where we felt apologetic. Even when he sprained his ankle and was sitting down, people around us showed concern, and a store clerk brought ice, which moved us deeply," "There really are many good people (tears)," and "Therefore, instead of believing what's written online, it's important to experience things for yourself" were also received.
